Nigel Simpson is Director of Tech Strategy & Architecture at The Walt Disney Company. As a leader in Disney’s Enterprise Architecture group, Nigel has technical purview across Disney’s business units. Nigel leads strategic initiatives focused on technology strategy, future state architecture, IoT, developer productivity, and open source. Nigel established Disney’s Open Source Governance Program to enable developers to fully leverage the benefits of open source while managing risk. Prior to Disney, Nigel held various technical roles at Sun Microsystems, including Senior Researcher at Sun Labs where he developed innovative solutions for distance collaboration, including an open source virtual world. Nigel has a BSc in Computing Science from Imperial College, London. He holds 5 US patents.
